Netpunk

Hundreds of netrunners flock to Underground City, chasing a rumor that speaks of an incredible DAEMON capable of breaking any ICE or defense. You're Neon, another netrunner more that, following a clue, has ended up in a very dangerous situation. Now, stripped of your rig and DAEMONS, you need to collect yourself and come back to the treasure hunt. Will you become one of the best netrunners the world has ever seen?

Netpunk is currently in a demo state. I make the game code, design and art using GB Studio and Piskel. The demo should take around 1 hour to complete. Hopefully, I'll keep working on it and manage to make a full release of the game.

Note: This game contains strong language and has several mentions of drugs and alcohol.

Underground City is populated by a charming and decent number of NPCs that can offer insight into the world of Netpunk, sell stuff, or even give quests. Talk with everyone you meet! Except to that guy. That guy is the worst.

EXPLORE THE NET!

From meatspace to netspace at the press of a key (and with an advanced neural jack cable directly connected to your brain). Jack-in from different terminals to explore the Net and search for clues and answers!

BREACH SHIT UP!

Battles in Netpunk are easy. Each round, both you and the ICE you're trying to breach will choose 3 DAEMONS. Then, those DAEMONS will be executed in alternating order of choosing. Rinse and repeat until the ICE is breached or you're flatlined!

• A demo with full District with its own Net, quests, upgrades and DAEMONS to find.
• 8 DAEMONS to execute.
• 7 types of ICE to battle.
• The game has no music or SFX except for a battle theme. 
• The demo should take around 1 hour to complete.

Advice

• Use the pause menu -> DAEMONS to check what your DAEMONS can do in battle.
• Explore! The only way to get stronger is by collecting Upgrade Shards and then using them to enhance your HEALTH, POWER and DEFENSE. And do forget to unlock new DAEMONS!
• Safe often at each terminal before diving into the Net.
• Again, explore! There are several secrets and conversations to discover.
